Pop Up Business School returns to help Reading residents set up their own businesses

Following the previous successes of the Pop Up Business School in Reading, registrations are now open for the next free two-week course designed to help people start their own business.     

Pop Up Business SchoolPop Up Business School Reading returns next week and runs between 13 – 24 March at Walkabout in Friar Street (in the events room upstairs). The programme is supported by the Oracle Shopping Centre, Reading UK CIC and the Department for Work and Pensions and the course is aimed at anyone interested in self-employment.

The course aims to get participants to the point where they can confidently start trading, having covered areas such as sales, building a website for free, social media as a marketing tool, taxes and company structure, pitching, customer care, along with lots of tips and confidence building sessions.

Previous success stories from Pop Up Business Schools in Reading include Nina Stubban who set up Knitting Windows (www.knittingwindows.com), her own business monetizing her love of knitting, having attended the two week course in Reading.  So far, over 30% of attendees have set up their own businesses and over 300 people of all ages and backgrounds have taken part.
