JN 170810 DM Launch Reading 4891 webOn Wednesday 9th August, Dr. Martens launched their much-anticipated new store with Reading’s very own rockers The Amazons headlining a night of raucous celebration

With support from neighbouring Guildford band, BlackWaters, the indie punk foursome warmed the crowd with anthems such as 'So Far Out’ and ‘Down’ playing rowdily to a crowd who were eager to welcome the band into the brand new store.

Next up headline act The Amazons paid homage to Dr. Marten’s commitment to music with their intense guitar solos, lyrical verses and unfiltered rock attitude which echoed through Queen Victoria Street. As their indie hit’s ‘Little Something’ and ‘In My Mind' closed the set and the evening, it was a night to remember for Reading’s local community.

A special commission by local illustrator Joe La Placa was proudly displayed on a large scale backboard at the store and will remain a focal point within the store.

The Reading store will also offer further community based events and meet-ups in the following weeks, working with a range of diverse individuals from the surrounding community.

The Dr. Marten’s Reading store is now open on 24 Queen Victoria Street, Reading, RG1 1TG.JN 170810 DM Launch Reading 4909 web
