Thames Tower plans approved

Plans for the Thames Tower perspective (station view - small) 14Jul14.jpgrefurbishment of Thames Tower, a prime-site office building directly opposite Reading Station, have been approved by Reading Borough Council.

Landid Property and Brockton Capital's proposals will refurbish the building, adding a further four storeys and cladding the building in terracota to mirror the town's red brick.

Thames Tower will have 16 storeys with a total office floor space of 183,000 sq ft, and an average floor plate of 13,665 sq ft. The building will have capacity for a potential workforce of 1500.

The double height ground floor will house the building reception and restaurant/cafe, opening out onto the new public space between the building and its neighbour, the Station Hill development, and the station itself.

The developers are scheduled to be on site in the autumn with the building complete by mid 2016. More information - www.thamestower.com
