Residential investment

Reading is continuing to attract considerable residential investment with the £900 million investment in the station, Crossrail and buoyant economy, making Reading increasingly attractive as a place to live and work.

In the town centre

The Foundry

Crossmark have planning permission to develop 429 residential units on a former retail site in the town centre. 

L&Q Developments - Kenavon Drive

A riverside residential development on the site of a current retail park, opposite the former Reading prison. 765 units are being developed on the Kennet-side site.


CNM Developments have started work on a new scheme which will create 109 homes in 7-19 storey-buildings on the site of a former office block on King's Road.

London Road frontage

Thomas Homes have created 53 dwellings in the listed frontage buildings on the University of Reading's London Road campus. 

Thames Quarter

Lochailort are working on the new development alongside the main railway line.  315 homes are planned. 


Wider Reading

Kennet Island

A ten-minute direct bus ride into the town centre along the A33 and close to Green Park Business Park, Berkeley have released the final collection of new homes.

Set in 60 acres opposite Green Park business Park in south Reading,  St Edward are building 657 new homes in a lakeside location. Phase one is under construction.




The future

Royal Elm Park

Development at Reading FC's Madejski Stadium of 618 studio, one, two and three bed apartments. Work is yet to start.

Station Hill

Up to 300 apartments are scheduled to be built as part of this major town centre mixed-use development by Lincoln. 

Royal Mail site

Hermes are consulting on plans to develop housing on the former industrial site.
