Last Week to Nominate for the Reading Cultural Awards 2018


Nominations for the 2018 Reading Cultural Awards close next Friday on 20 April, so make sure to nominate what you have enjoyed most about Reading’s arts, culture and heritage in the last 12 months.

Following a hugely successful first year in 2017 and over 400 nominations already for this year’s awards, awards organiser Reading UK is thrilled with the levels of interest the 2018 Awards have generated.170698r072 2

The Cultural Awards celebrate the best of Reading’s arts, culture and heritage with everyone invited to nominate their favourite Reading arts events, venues, artists and organisations across 12 categories including Visual Arts Event of the Year, Young Talent under 25,  Business Champion of the Arts, as well as the prestigious Cultural Organisation of the Year.

The Awards were launched in February at the Olympia Ballroom, which will also serve as the venue for the awards ceremony later this year on Wednesday 27 June.

The Cultural Awards are generously supported by Cream Design, The Oracle, Haslams, Grant Thornton UK, Jacobs the Jewellers, Reading UK, Reading Business Improvement District, The Banquet Kitchen and Olympia Ballroom, Barton Willmore, BBC Radio Berkshire and the Reading Chronicle.

Reading Cultural Awards 2018Nominations are open until midnight on 20 April so it’s important to get them in quickly before it is too late! Anyone can nominate an artist, organisation, performance, arts venue or event that took place between April 2017 and 31 March 2018.

A shortlist of nominees will be announced in May, with the awards themselves being presented at a glamorous evening of celebration at the Olympia Ballroom on 27 June.
