Street food from around the world will take over Broad Street for the first weekend in June for the 11th running as Reading’s annual foodie festival, Eat Reading, returns on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 June 2019.

Eat Reading is Reading town centre’s annual outdoor culinary celebration as 30  food stalls take over  Broad Street for one weekend.

Visitors to Eat Reading will be able to sample mouth-watering cuisine from around the world, from Caribbean to Greek, carnivorous catering to great vegan food. A giant dining table will be the place to enjoy your food and make some new friends in the centre of Broad Street and there will be musical entertainment .

Eat Reading is managed by Southern Market Traders, who operate the successful CHOW street food market in Reading every Friday. Bobby Lonergan, manager of Reading Central Business Improvement District, said: “Eat Reading is always a highlight in Reading’s food calendar, bringing talented street food businesses onto Broad Street to showcase their culinary skills.

“Eat Reading has been a huge success for over a decade attracting thousands of people to Reading town centre to enjoy the world on a plate. Reading Central BID is delighted to be working with SMT to bring the authentic flavours of the world to the heart of Reading for this two-day event of good food, good vibes and – fingers crossed – good weather.”

Eat Reading will be followed two weeks later by another food takeover of Broad Street. On Saturday 15 June, Reading Chilli Fest will be returning to the town centre, tantalising the taste buds with all things spicy, from chill sauces and relishes to hot food, chilli eating competitions and much more.
