Readipop 2018 announces first acts! 


Soul, electronic, rock and dance, whatever your taste, Readipop festival promises to have something for everyone in 2018!


The annual event held along the gorgeous banks of the River Thames in Caversham, will host the three-day festival from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th of July.Not only is some of the best music on offer, but also delicious food, amazing art and creative projects going on in the area.


Readipop is a charity-led music event that caters for the whole family, bringing a range of local and internationally successful artists to Reading.The Festival raises money that will go directly to projects that support artists, musicians, actors and art projects.


Readipop Festival director Gavin Lombo said, “It feels like a real step up from last year and there are plenty more great local and international acts still to come. With Blue Collar Street Food and the Purple Turtle’s involvement, we’re ensuring there’s plenty of tasty food and drink to enjoy alongside brilliant live performances and workshops”.


Among the first acts announced are:


Dawn Penn

Reggae sensation and Grammy Nominee Dawn Penn, will be performing at Readipop Festival 2018. The singer has played gigs at festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown and Womad in the past and promises a soulful performance this summer.




Seven piece disco band Odyssey will open the festival, fresh from touring with R&B favourites Chic and Sister Sledge.


808 State

80’s electronic group 808 State will take the main stage on Saturday 14th July, complete with a live, full band. Pioneers of the acid house movement, 808 State are well respected legends in the techno-house genre, all with good reason.  



With a back-drop of free festivals, squat parties and political upheaval, rock-rap band Senser experiment with beats, rhymes, guitars and a multitude of musical genres, all of which will come with them and their intense energy to the Readipop stage this July.


Other announced artists for this year’s Readipop include Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Huey Morgan’s NYC Block Party, Lack of Afro, Dutty Moonshine Quartet and Too Many T’s.


Performing a live DJ set, Don Letts also makes an appearance at the festival as well as John Power the front man for Cast and musician for The La’s.
